EPHA7는 단백질 티로신 키나제 계열의 ephrin 수용체 하위패밀리에 속합니다. EPH 및 관련 수용체들은 주로 신경계 발달 과정에서 매개되는 발달적 사건에 관여합니다. EPHA7은 배아 발달에 중요한 역할을 하며, EPH 하위패밀리의 수용체들은 일반적으로 단일 키나제 도메인과 시스테인 풍부 영역, 두 개의 fibronectin type III 반복 구조를 포함하는 세포외 영역을 가지고 있습니다. Ephrin 수용체는 세포외 도메인 서열 유사성과 ephrin-A 및 ephrin-B 리간드 결합 친화도에 따라 두 그룹으로 나뉩니다.
