Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are associated with various cancers. CHK2 phosphorylates several modulators of cell cycle control, including tumor suppressor proteins such as BRCA1, aiding in DNA damage response. It is considered a putative tumor suppressor, with mutations linked to Li-Fraumeni syndrome and predisposition to sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors.
