이 유전자의 결함은 osteopetrosis autosomal recessive type 4 (OPTB4) 및 autosomal dominant osteopetrosis type 2 (OPTA2)의 원인이 됩니다.
Osteopetrosis는 미성숙 골의 재흡수 결함으로 인해 비정상적으로 밀도가 높은 골이 형성되는 희귀 유전 질환입니다.
OPTA2는 청소년기 또는 성인기에 발생하는 가장 흔한 형태의 골경화증입니다.
