간에서 저장된 retinol을 말초 조직으로 전달하며, 혈장 내에서 transthyretin과 복합체를 형성하여 신장 사구체를 통한 손실을 방지합니다.
비타민 A 결핍 시 결합 단백질의 분비가 번역 후 단계에서 차단되어 표피 세포로의 retinol 공급이 저하됩니다.
