Description:
This TS8.2 monoclonal antibody recognizes human TCR V delta 1, a common framework determinant on the delta-subunit of the T cell receptor. Gamma-delta T cells are primarily found within the epithelium, showing less TCR diversity and recognizing antigens differently than alpha-beta T cells. Subsets of gamma-delta T cells have demonstrated antitumor and immunoregulatory activity.

This TS8.2 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
This antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. One test is defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

The T Cell Receptor gamma-delta (TCR γδ) is a heterodimeric membrane receptor consisting of highly variable gamma and delta chains expressed as part of a complex with invariant CD3 proteins. Gamma-delta T cells are less frequent than alpha-beta T cells but represent a significant portion of T cells found at epithelial borders such as gut mucosa intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL). The antigenic stimuli required for gamma-delta T cell receptor activation remain unclear and are thought to be largely MHC class-independent.
