Target Information
MAP4K1 (HPK1, Hematopoietic progenitor kinase 1) is a hematopoietic cell-restricted member of the Ste20 serine/threonine kinase superfamily.
It acts as an upstream activator of the MEKK/JNK/SAPK signaling pathway and regulates T cell receptor (TCR) signaling and proliferation via phosphorylation of SLP-76.
HPK1 plays a crucial role in stress response and blood cell differentiation. It specifically activates JNK1 and enhances AP-1 transcriptional activity.
Unlike PAK65, HPK1 does not contain the small GTPase Rac1/Cdc42-binding domain and does not bind to either Rac1 or Cdc42.
