Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The CCAAT-binding factor NF-Y is a heteromeric transcription factor that specifically binds to CCAAT sequences in many eukaryotic genes. NF-Y consists of three subunits: NF-YA, NF-YB, and NF-YC, all of which are necessary for DNA binding.
Each NF-Y subunit contains a conserved segment required for NF-Y–DNA complex formation, homologous to the histone-fold motif of eukaryotic histones. The DNA-binding domains of NF-YB and NF-YC interact through a histone-fold “handshake” motif, analogous to histone proteins H2B and H2A.
