Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to the metaxin 2 protein from mouse, which interacts with the mitochondrial membrane protein metaxin 1. Due to this similarity, the encoded protein is thought to associate peripherally with the cytosolic face of the outer mitochondrial membrane and participate in mitochondrial protein import. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, and a related pseudogene is located on chromosome 7.
