This product contains purified recombinant human IL-10 protein with an N-terminal hexahistidine tag.
It may be used as a positive control in various immunological assays.
Target Information
IL-10 encodes a cytokine primarily produced by monocytes and also by lymphocytes. It plays key roles in immunoregulation and inflammation by down-regulating Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages.
IL-10 enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production, blocks NF-kappa B activity, and regulates the JAK-STAT signaling pathway.
Knockout studies in mice indicate IL-10 is essential for intestinal immune regulation. Mutations in IL10 are linked to increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis.
Diseases associated with IL10 include Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1.
