Antibody detects endogenous levels of total AXIN2.
Target Information
The Axin-related protein AXIN2 plays a key role in regulating the stability of beta-catenin in the Wnt signaling pathway. In mouse, conductin (the homolog of AXIN2) forms a multiprotein complex with APC, beta-catenin, and glycogen synthase kinase 3-beta, leading to beta-catenin degradation. Deregulation of beta-catenin is linked to several malignancies. The AXIN2 gene is mapped to 17q23–q24, a region frequently showing loss of heterozygosity in breast cancer, neuroblastoma, and other tumors. Mutations in AXIN2 are associated with colorectal cancer with defective mismatch repair.
