Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISA and Western blots, approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Siglec-10 is observed.
- Less than 5% cross-reactivity with rhSiglec-2, -3, -5, -6, -7, -9 and recombinant mouse Siglec-F.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Siglecs are sialic acid-binding lectins of the immunoglobulin superfamily, mainly expressed in cells of the hematopoietic system.
Siglec11 binds specifically to alpha2-8-linked sialic acids and is expressed on macrophages of various tissues, not on peripheral blood leukocytes.
It shares high homology with Siglec10 in the extracellular domain but differs in the cytoplasmic domain, suggesting a gene duplication and recombination origin.
Siglec11 becomes tyrosine-phosphorylated upon pervanadate treatment and associates with SHP-1 and SHP-2.
At least five isoforms of Siglec11 are known to exist.
