이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 휴지기 림프구에서 발현되는 post-proline 절단 아미노펩티다아제로, 세포자멸사 억제를 통해 림프구의 휴지 상태를 유지하는 역할을 합니다. 이 효소는 prolylcarboxypeptidase와 높은 서열 상동성을 가지며, 산성 및 중성 pH에서 모두 활성을 나타냅니다.
