Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues, heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Serum Amyloid P component (APCS) is a glycoprotein belonging to the pentraxin family, characterized by a pentameric structure. Members of this family share high sequence homology, likely due to gene duplication. APCS binds to proteins in the amyloid cross-beta fold, suggesting a chaperone-like role. It may regulate chromatin degradation and binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, indicating a potential role in apoptotic cell clearance in vivo.
