Target Information
Mammalian apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease (APE/ref-1)는 다양한 세포 기능에 관여하는 다기능 효소입니다. APE는 DNA의 abasic site를 복구하고, 산화 신호 전달 및 전사 인자 조절(Fos, Jun, NF-kB, Myb, HIF-1α, CREB, Pax), 세포 주기 조절(p53), 세포사멸(apoptosis)에 관여하는 단백질의 redox 상태를 조절합니다.
이 단백질은 발달 단계 및 조직별로 다르게 발현되며, 핵 내 DNA 수선 외에도 다양한 세포 단백질과 상호작용할 가능성이 있습니다. APE의 인산화 조절은 casein kinase II에 의해 매개되며, 저산소 상태에서 산소 재도입 시 APE mRNA 및 단백질 수준이 증가합니다. 일부 악성 조직에서는 정상 조직보다 높은 발현을 보이며, APE 발현 감소는 세포사멸 유도와 관련이 있습니다.
