Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein belonging to the pentraxin family, characterized by a pentameric organization. These proteins share sequence homology, likely due to gene duplication. The encoded protein binds to pathological amyloid cross-beta fold proteins, suggesting a potential chaperone role. It may also regulate chromatin degradation and binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, indicating involvement in apoptotic cell clearance in vivo.
