Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein belonging to the pentraxin family, characterized by a pentameric organization. These family members share high sequence homology, likely due to gene duplication.
The binding of this protein to amyloid cross-beta fold structures suggests a role as a chaperone. It may also regulate chromatin degradation.
Additionally, it binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, indicating a possible function in handling apoptotic cells in vivo.
