Product Specific Information
This antibody is specific for murine MHC Class I and binds to polymorphic H-2 determinants expressed on most haplotypes. It recognizes all H-2 Class I molecules independent of allele and inhibits binding of most mouse anti-H-2 antibodies to H-2k cells.
Target Information
MHC Class I molecules, also known as B-F antigens in avian species, consist of a polymorphic alpha-chain noncovalently bound to beta2-microglobulin. These molecules are expressed on most nucleated cells and present endogenously synthesized antigenic peptides to CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes.
The monoclonal antibody F21-2 also reacts with turkey MHC Class I.
HLA and MHC antibodies are essential tools in Immunopeptidomics, aiding in neoantigen identification and characterization via LC-MS/MS.
