This affinity-purified antibody is directed against the phosphorylated form of human ATG13 protein at the pS318 residue.
Reactivity occurs against human ATG13 pS318 protein and is specific for the phosphorylated form.
Minimal reactivity with non-phosphorylated ATG13 by ELISA and Western blot.
BLAST analysis indicates 100% sequence homology with human ATG13; cross-reactivity with other species is unknown.
Target Information
Autophagy is a process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway, essential for normal growth control and cellular nutrient preservation under starvation.
ATG13 forms a complex with ULK1, ULK2, and FIP200, which is regulated by TOR phosphorylation.
Inhibition of TOR by rapamycin or leucine deprivation leads to dephosphorylation of ATG13, ULK1, and ULK2, initiating autophagy.
Knockdown of ATG13 inhibits autophagosome formation.
