Product Specific Information

  • In direct ELISAs, this antibody shows approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Olig2 and 50–100% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Olig3.
  • Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Target Information

Olig1 promotes formation and maturation of oligodendrocytes, especially within the brain. It cooperates with OLIG2 to establish the pMN domain of the embryonic neural tube.
Olig2 is an essential regulator of ventral neuroectodermal progenitor cell fate and is involved in a chromosomal translocation t(14;21)(q11.2;q22) associated with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Its chromosomal location on chromosome 21 may play a role in learning deficits associated with Down syndrome.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in the brain, particularly in oligodendrocytes. Strongly expressed in oligodendrogliomas; weak to moderate in astrocytomas; variable in glioblastomas.
