- No cross-reactivity observed with recombinant human IL-6, porcine IL-6, rat IL-6, IL-11, CT-1, or CLC in Western blot.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level <0.10 EU per 1 µg antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. It acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune or infectious conditions. Expression occurs at acute and chronic inflammation sites, activating transcriptional responses via the IL-6 receptor alpha.
IL-6 is associated with inflammatory diseases such as diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi sarcoma, and rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels are also observed in viral infections including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
