Product Specific Information

This antibody specifically reacts with Histone H4 acetylated at Lysine 12 (K12ac) and shows no cross-reactivity with other acetylated lysines in Histone H4.

Target Information

Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each core histone (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which ~146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units called nucleosomes. The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and facilitates chromatin compaction into higher-order structures.
This gene, located on chromosome 6, is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H4 family. Its transcripts lack polyA tails and instead contain a palindromic termination element.
