Product Specific Information

This Bu20a monoclonal antibody reacts with 5-bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), a uridine derivative incorporated into DNA during the S-phase of the cell cycle. Anti-BrdU antibodies can identify cells that have undergone DNA synthesis during BrdU treatment.

For flow cytometric staining, use the BrdU Staining Buffer Set (Product # 00-5525) and corresponding protocol.

Applications Reported:
BU20A antibody is suitable for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested on BrdU-pulsed mouse splenocytes using the BrdU Staining Buffer Set. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorophore Characteristics:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, excited at 405 nm and emitting at 445 nm. Ensure instrument compatibility with Violet laser detection.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Bromodeoxyuridine (5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine, BrdU) is a synthetic nucleoside analog of thymidine used to detect proliferating cells. BrdU incorporates into newly synthesized DNA during replication (S phase). Detection requires DNA denaturation via acid or heat exposure.
