This antibody has specificity for Human CD113/Nectin-3/PVRL3.
Target Information
Nectin-3 is an 83 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin supergene family. Nectin proteins are calcium-independent cell-cell adhesion molecules consisting of four members (nectin 1–4). They interact homophilically and heterophilically to form various junctions such as adherens junctions, synaptic junctions, and Sertoli cell-spermatid junctions.
Nectin-3 (PRR3) is predominantly expressed in testis and placental tissues, and interacts with afadin at cadherin-based junctions. The ectodomains of Nectin-3 and CD155 (Poliovirus Receptor) show strong affinity to each other.
Injection of antibody 103-A1 into seminiferous tubules disrupts actin filaments in Sertoli cells and causes exfoliation of maturing spermatids.
