Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and are composed predominantly of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. These proteins are involved in maintaining neuronal caliber and are developmentally regulated.
- NF-L: Light or low molecular weight subunit (~70 kDa)
- NF-M / NF-H: Medium and heavy subunits (NF-H ~180–220 kDa, species dependent)
