Product Specific Information
The epitope recognized by antibody M81 is located in domain IV and/or V of the gamma-domain of activated C1s. Monoclonal antibody M81 blocks C4 activation and C4 binding to activated C1s. The antibody binds near the C1s binding site and reacts with both active and inactive forms of C1s.
Target Information
This gene encodes a serine protease that is a major constituent of the human complement subcomponent C1. C1s associates with complement components C1r and C1q to form the first component of the serum complement system. Mutations in this gene can cause selective C1s deficiency.
