This antibody detects endogenous Myosin VIIa protein at a molecular weight of approximately 254 kDa.

Target Information
Myosin VIIa is a member of the myosin superfamily of actin-based motor proteins.
Defects in the MYO7A gene are linked to hearing impairment in shaker-1 (sh1) mice and cause Usher syndrome IB in humans.
Usher syndrome combines congenital deafness, vestibular dysfunction, and retinitis pigmentosa, representing the most common form of combined deafness and blindness.
The Myosin VIIa protein includes:
- An ATP-binding N-terminal motor domain
- A central region with five light-chain binding (IQ) motifs
- A C-terminal domain containing three myosin tail homology (MyTH4) and talin-like homology regions
