Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

The Class II PI3 kinases, including PIK3C2A, phosphorylate the 3-position of PI or PI4P. Although less studied than Class I PI3 kinases, Class II enzymes are linked to receptor-mediated processes such as insulin signaling, neuronal survival, and growth factor signaling.
PI3-kinases are involved in cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, survival, migration, and intracellular protein trafficking.
PIK3C2A contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal C2 domain, characteristic of Class II PI3-kinases. C2 domains function as calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding motifs mediating membrane translocation and protein interactions.
This protein’s PI3-kinase activity is not sensitive to nanomolar levels of wortmannin and can be activated by insulin, potentially participating in integrin-dependent signaling.
