Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
A BLAST analysis suggests 92.9% homology to mouse for the immunogen sequence. Cross-reactivity with PIAS1 family and other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
PIAS1 functions as an E3-type small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) ligase, stabilizing the interaction between UBE2I and its substrate, and acts as a SUMO-tethering factor. It plays a crucial role in transcriptional coregulation of various cellular pathways, including the STAT, p53, and steroid hormone signaling pathways.
In testis, PIAS1 acts as a nuclear receptor transcriptional coregulator and may contribute to androgen receptor initiation and spermatogenesis maintenance. Transcriptional effects may vary depending on biological context.
