Product Specific Information
The eBio133-1C6 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD100, a member of the class IV semaphorin family also called sema4D.
CD100 promotes angiogenesis, invasive growth, proliferation, and anti-apoptosis of cancer cells in vitro. It acts as a costimulatory molecule in adaptive immune responses by switching off negative signaling from CD72.
Another ligand of CD100 is Plexin-B1. High expression levels of CD100 correlate with poor survival in soft tissue sarcoma patients. Expression occurs in both hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells.
CD100 is expressed on resting T cells, NK cells, and B cells, and can also exist as a soluble form.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL reaction volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Semaphorins are neuronal chemorepellants guiding neurons during nervous system development.
CD100 (Semaphorin 4D), a 150 kDa homodimer, induces B cell aggregation and enhances viability in vitro.
It modulates CD40-CD40L B cell signaling by increasing aggregation/survival and downregulating CD23 expression.
CD72 serves as a lymphocyte receptor for CD100, regulating B cell signaling.
CD100 is expressed on resting and PHA-stimulated T cells, weakly on NK cells, EBV-transformed B cells, monocytes, and tumor/peripheral blood T cell lines, with higher density on activated T and B cells.
