Description:
This 201A monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD303a (CLEC4C, BDCA-2), a type II transmembrane protein expressed almost exclusively on plasmacytoid dendritic cells. These cells secrete type I interferon during antiviral and antitumor responses. CD303a binds asialo-galactosyl-oligosaccharides on pathogens, triggering signaling pathways that lead to internalization and downregulation of interferon production.

Applications Reported:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored using:

• IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-822-49)
• 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54)
  Storage up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

This gene encodes a C-type lectin domain family member involved in cell adhesion, signaling, glycoprotein turnover, inflammation, and immune response. It functions as a type II transmembrane protein in dendritic cells. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
