Target Information
P2Y12 is a G-protein coupled receptor involved in platelet aggregation and is a potential therapeutic target for thromboembolic and clotting disorders.
Two transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified. Expression has been reported in platelets, spinal cord, and multiple brain regions.
ESTs for P2Y12 have been isolated from B-cell/lung/testis, brain, embryo, prostate, eye, kidney carcinoma, and colon carcinoma libraries.
