Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
NF2 encodes a protein, Merlin, which is similar to members of the ERM family of proteins that link cytoskeletal components with cell membrane proteins. Merlin interacts with cell-surface proteins, cytoskeletal regulators, and ion transport proteins.
NF2 is highly expressed during embryonic development and in adults is found in Schwann cells, meningeal cells, lens, and nerve.
Mutations in NF2 are associated with neurofibromatosis type II, characterized by nervous system and skin tumors and ocular abnormalities.
Multiple isoforms are produced by alternatively spliced transcripts.
