Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase belonging to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. The receptor is activated by binding of the fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand to the extracellular domain, inducing homodimer formation and autophosphorylation. Activated FLT3 phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effectors involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Mutations causing constitutive activation are associated with acute myeloid and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
