Target Information

The NR1I3 gene encodes a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily and serves as a key regulator of xenobiotic and endobiotic metabolism. This protein binds DNA as a monomer or as a heterodimer with the retinoid X receptor, regulating transcription of genes involved in drug metabolism and bilirubin clearance (e.g., cytochrome P450 family). Unlike most nuclear receptors, this transcriptional regulator is constitutively active without ligand binding but can be modulated by agonists and inverse agonists.
