For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

COX2 converts arachidonate to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), a key step in prostanoid synthesis including inflammatory prostaglandins.
This reaction occurs in two steps:

1. Cyclooxygenase (COX) converts arachidonate to prostaglandin G2 (PGG2).
2. Peroxidase reduces PGG2 to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2).

COX2 is constitutively expressed in some tissues (endothelium, kidney, brain) and up-regulated in pathological conditions such as cancer and inflammation.
Up-regulation is linked to increased cell adhesion, phenotypic changes, resistance to apoptosis, and tumor angiogenesis.
In cancer cells, COX2 drives prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production, influencing motility, proliferation, and survival.
COX2 is naturally inhibited by calcitriol (active Vitamin D), and glucocorticoids repress PTGS2 gene activity.
It is a target of NSAIDs such as aspirin, which reduce inflammation and pain mediated by COX2.
