This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and rat samples based on sequence homology.
Suggested positive control: antigen standard for NFKB1 (transient overexpression lysate), HeLa whole cell extract, HeLa cell lysate.

Target Information

NFkB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and microbial products. It regulates cellular events including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50) is a 50 kDa subunit of NF-kB, part of the Rel protein family, synthesized as a p105 precursor containing nuclear localization, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains.
p50 forms homodimers or heterodimerizes with p65, forming the functional NFkB complex. The NFkB complex is mainly cytoplasmic in an inactive state bound to I-kappa-B. Upon phosphorylation of I-kappa-B, NFkB translocates to the nucleus to regulate gene expression.
Phosphorylation of the p50 subunit at Ser-337 enhances DNA-binding efficiency. NFkB plays roles in AIDS, cancer metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis pathogenesis.
