GLUT9, also known as SLC2A9, is a member of the SLC2A facilitative glucose transporter family. These transporters play an essential role in maintaining glucose homeostasis. GLUT9 may contribute to chondrocyte development and survival within cartilage matrices. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
