This antibody is predicted to react with zebrafish, C. elegans, primate, bovine, and Drosophila based on 100% sequence homology.

Target Information
GRP78 is a 78 kDa glucose-regulated protein belonging to the HSP70 family. It resides in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and transiently associates with newly synthesized secretory and membrane proteins. GRP78 interacts with mutant or misfolded proteins, marking them for degradation.
The conserved sequence Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu (KDEL) at the C-terminus ensures ER retention via the KDEL receptor. GRP78 plays key roles in protein folding, degradation of misfolded proteins, and maintenance of cellular homeostasis.
It has been identified as a biomarker for hypoglycemia and exhibits neuroprotective effects against glutamate and oxidative stress. Reduced GRP78 expression is observed in Alzheimer’s disease and in association with mutations in the presenilin-1 (PS1) gene. Induction of GRP78 is also linked to drug resistance in cancer therapy.
