Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically recognizes human PPAR gamma1 and 2 and cross-reacts with mouse and rat PPAR gamma1 and 2.
It does not recognize human PPAR alpha or delta.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) subfamily of nuclear receptors.
PPARs form heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) and regulate transcription of various genes.
Three subtypes of PPARs are known: PPAR-alpha, PPAR-delta, and PPAR-gamma.
PPAR-gamma regulates adipocyte differentiation and is implicated in diseases such as obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and cancer.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
