Target Information
ACKR1 (also known as DARC) is an atypical chemokine receptor that regulates chemokine levels and localization via high-affinity chemokine binding, independent of classical signal transduction. It functions as a chemokine interceptor or scavenger receptor, binding inflammatory chemokines from both CXC and CC subfamilies but not homeostatic chemokines.
ACKR1 also serves as a receptor for chemokines such as CCL2, CCL5, CCL7, CCL11, CCL13, CCL14, CCL17, CXCL5, CXCL6, IL8/CXCL8, CXCL11, GRO, RANTES, MCP-1, TARC, and for malaria parasites P. vivax and P. knowlesi.
