Product Specific Information

The MU5UBEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and non-human primate CD185 (CXCR5, BLR1), a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor originally identified in Burkitt’s lymphoma. In peripheral blood, CD185 is expressed on B cells, CD4+ T cells (excluding Th1 and Th2), and a subset of memory (CD45RO+) T cells. CD185+ T cells migrate to lymph nodes via CCR7 and CD62L expression.

In tonsils, CD185 is present on nearly all CD4+ cells with CD45RO, CD69, and ICOS. These cells can induce antibody production in B cells, highlighting their role in B-cell help. CXCR5 is critical for lymphocyte trafficking, especially T-cell migration into B-cell follicles in response to CXCL13, marking it as a key follicular helper T-cell marker.

This antibody cross-reacts with Rhesus macaque.

Target Information

CXCR5 (C-X-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5, CD185), also known as Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1), is a G protein-coupled receptor for chemokine BLC. It is expressed in Burkitt’s lymphoma, lymph nodes, spleen, and other lymphatic tissues, and plays an essential role in B cell migration.

CXCR5 expression has been detected in human blood, salivary gland, and various animal tissues (lymphatic organs, bone marrow, brain, liver, lymph node, spleen, stomach, tonsil). It belongs to the GPCR family, characterized by seven transmembrane helices and ligand-dependent activation. GPCRs are key drug targets, with examples including Zyprexa (Eli Lilly) and Claritin (Schering-Plough).
