Target Information
The REL gene encodes c-Rel, a transcription factor belonging to the Rel/NFκB family, which also includes RELA, RELB (604758), NFKB1, and NFKB2. These proteins share a conserved N-terminal Rel domain, responsible for DNA binding, dimerization, nuclear localization, and interaction with the NFκB inhibitor (Belguise and Sonenshein, 2007).
