Target Information
The protein encoded by the PTPRH gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs act as signaling molecules regulating various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This receptor-type PTP includes:
- An extracellular region with eight fibronectin type III-like repeats and multiple N-glycosylation sites
- A single transmembrane region
- A single intracytoplasmic catalytic domain
Expression is primarily observed in brain and liver, with lower levels in heart and stomach. It is also expressed in several cancer cell lines but not in the corresponding normal tissues.
