Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This receptor-type PTP includes:
- An extracellular region with eight fibronectin type III-like repeats
- Multiple N-glycosylation sites
- A single transmembrane region
- A single intracytoplasmic catalytic domain
Expression is primarily observed in brain and liver, with lower levels in heart and stomach. It is also detected in several cancer cell lines but not in corresponding normal tissues.
