Target Information
BCL-2는 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 주요 단백질로, 세포 생존 또는 사멸을 억제하거나 촉진하는 기능을 수행합니다.
BCL-2 패밀리 단백질은 서로 이합체를 형성하여 세포사멸 조절을 더욱 정교하게 조절합니다. 예를 들어, Bag1은 BCL-2와 이합체를 형성하여 항세포사멸 효과를 강화합니다.
Bax와 Bak은 미토콘드리아에서 cytochrome c 방출을 유도하여 세포사멸을 개시하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다. Bax는 세포사멸 촉진적 기능을 가지며, BCL2의 지속적 발현은 여포성 림프종(follicular lymphoma)의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
여포성 림프종의 경우, 종양성 배중심은 BCL-2 단백질을 고발현하지만 정상 또는 과형성 배중심에서는 발현되지 않습니다.
BCL-2는 대체 스플라이싱으로 생성된 두 가지 전사 변이를 가지며, C-말단이 다릅니다.
