Product Specific Information

The eBio64DEC17 antibody reacts with human IL-17A and functions as a neutralizing antibody. IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine promoting inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.

IL-17A exists as glycosylated 20–30 kD homodimers and enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts. It stimulates epithelial and endothelial cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2, and supports CD34+ progenitor proliferation and neutrophil maturation.

IL-23-dependent Th17 cells represent a distinct CD4+ subset, negatively regulated by IFN-γ and IL-4. Intracellular staining by eBio64DEC17 identifies the same cell population as eBio64CAP17.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. It is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 136 amino acids, signaling through IL-17R/CDw217.

IL-17A regulates NF-κB and MAPK activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide production. It plays a key role in inflammation and immune regulation across multiple species.
