Product Specific Information

The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD4 molecule, a 55 kDa surface receptor expressed on most thymocytes, subsets of mature T cells, and dendritic cells. CD4 binds MHC class II on antigen-presenting cells, playing a key role in T cell development and activation. RM4-5 binding is blocked by GK1.5.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal concentration should be determined empirically.
Fluorochrome Information: eFluor® 506 is excited by a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 506 nm. Recommended detection filter: 510/20 band pass or equivalent.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD4 is a co-receptor for MHC class II molecules and HIV. It is primarily expressed in T helper cells and other immune cells such as monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. CD4 expression is found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain non-lymphoid tissues. It plays a crucial role in T-cell activation and signal transduction via association with Lck kinase. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts exist.
