Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Retinoblastoma (Rb) only when phosphorylated at Serine 780.
Target Information
Rb is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein capable of binding to DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues, but not on tyrosine. Rb forms complexes with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papilloma virus-16 E. It may regulate transcription, and loss of its function leads to uncontrolled cell growth. Mutations in the RB gene are associated with various cancers, including those of the breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia.
