AKT1 (PKB alpha)는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로 세포 생존을 조절합니다. 활성화된 효소는 다양한 세포 유형(특히 암세포)에서 여러 표적을 인산화하여 세포 주기 진행을 촉진하고, apoptosis를 억제합니다. 인슐린, PI3K, IGF1 등 다양한 성장 및 생존 인자에 의해 활성화됩니다. AKT 경로는 암 치료제 개발의 주요 표적입니다.
