Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B) is encoded by the gene MAP1LC3B in humans. LC3B is associated with microtubule assembly and plays an essential role in neurogenesis and autophagy.
Autophagy is a degradation process of cytoplasmic components, involving the formation of double-membrane autophagosomes that fuse with lysosomes for content breakdown.
LC3B may be implicated in cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases.
